We would like to get to know you and the project you have in mind. The programme plans seven council-funded places, one company-sponsored place and up to two self-funded places. All residents follow the same programme and share the same participation rights and artistic commitments.

Can you commit to the full ten days, including travel? *The working residency in Kyoto runs from 18 to 24 October 2027. You will need to allow ten days in total, including travel to and from Japan. Flight dates and times will be confirmed when bookings are made.

Which participation route would you like to explore? *

Company-sponsored grant: I would like to be considered for the place funded by a company supporting arts and education.Self-funded place: I would like to apply for one of up to two places without a council grant.Municipal grant: I have support from a local council and understand that selection follows its public open call.Municipal grant: I am discussing support with a local council, or would like to find out about its open call.

The seven municipal grants will be awarded through public calls. The sponsored grant will have specific rules; the self-funded places will have a complementary call and project-based selection. Stating municipal support here does not confirm selection or an agreement with JAPÓN CREA. Independent places do not replace municipal places and depend on capacity, services and approval of rules.

05 / Review your proposal

All residents are expected to join the group exhibition touring the seven municipalities. Municipal grant recipients also give a presentation in the municipality that selects them. Rules will formalise these commitments and their explicit acceptance, along with reserves, withdrawals, responsibilities, cancellations, insurance, healthcare, travel documents, images, intellectual property and data protection.
